Effective April 1, 2017, healthcare employers in California will be subject to the nation’s first standard on workplace violence prevention. These standards are not limited to hospitals but instead, apply more broadly to virtually any type of “health facility” in the state, including drug treatment programs, emergency medical services, and home health care and home-based hospices, and touch on all aspects of the operation of the facility. In this webinar, Littler attorneys will walk through the major requirements in the new regulations, including implementation of a “workplace violence prevention plan,” employee and management training, and reporting and recordkeeping requirements. They will provide you with practical tips and suggestions regarding how to approach these regulations and, if necessary, how to be prepared to respond to any Cal/OSHA investigation.
