This program is designed for in-house counsel

While courts are beginning to answer many questions about the enforceability of private arbitration agreements, many social, political, and legal challenges remain. Even though federal legislative attempts to weaken the Federal Arbitration Act have failed, new retaliation and whistleblower protection frameworks may not be included in the scope of pre-dispute arbitration agreements.

Hon. Judge Leonard Davis, the Chief Judge of the Eastern District of Texas, will serve as the moderator of the Great Arbitration Debate. The Hon. Royal Furgeson, retired federal judge and Dean of the new University of North Texas School of Law, and the Hon. Martin Hoffman, Presiding Judge, 68th Civil District Court of Texas, will take the lead in advocating against the use of arbitration agreements while attorneys from Littler Mendelson, P.C. will marshal the points in favor of arbitration. Come enjoy an afternoon of thought-provoking debate about arbitration, followed by a reception and a chance to network with your colleagues.
