As many employers are finding out the hard way these days, both federal and state agencies have stepped up their scrutiny of workers whom the company has classified as independent contractors. This session will explore:

  • How does this issue typically arise?
  • What’s behind this increased attention?
  • What are penalties associated with misclassification?
  • What are the possible legislative changes to Oregon law?

But most importantly, we’ll provide you with the strategies and tools you can use to make sure your workers are properly classified!

This program will also include a Wage & Hour Update that will review recent developments in wage and hour law that require many employers to examine and change their practices, as well as tactics that have been added to plaintiffs’ attorneys’ playbooks.
