Littler's Earl "Chip" Jones Named Office Managing Shareholder in Dallas

DALLAS, TX (January 10, 2013) - Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the world’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management, has appointed Earl “Chip” Jones as managing shareholder of the firm’s Dallas office. Jones assumes the role previously served by Jennifer Youpa, who acted as the Dallas office’s managing shareholder “OMS” for three years and will join the firm’s Management Committee.

“Chip’s combination of accounting and legal training, executive experience and leadership made him a natural choice for OMS,” said Marko Mrkonich, president and managing director of Littler. “We look forward to having him take the helm of the Dallas office and building on the foundation Jennifer laid during her tenure. We thank her for the pivotal role she played in the office’s impressive growth and wish her well in her new role on the firm’s Management Committee.”

“I am proud to be taking the reins from Jennifer, and look forward to stepping into my new role at the firm,” added Jones. “The Dallas office is filled with extremely talented lawyers and has flourished under Jennifer’s management. I am excited to have this opportunity and to guide the office’s continued growth in the region.”

A key member of Littler’s Corporate Compliance and Ethics Practice Group, Jones draws from his experience in both private practice and a corporate senior executive position with a Fortune 200 company. He manages labor and employment law matters and creates and manages ethics, compliance and corporate social responsibility reporting, programs and initiatives. Additionally, he has experience developing and improving ethics and compliance programs, responding to allegations of misconduct by senior executives and assisting in efficiently resolving day-to-day workplace disputes.

In addition to being a member of the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and the Dallas Bar Association’s Legal Ethics Committee, Jones is a volunteer with the First Tee of Greater Dallas. He has been quoted extensively by the media on a number of labor and employment topics and has spoken before numerous organizations across the U.S. on workplace issues.

Jones received his J.D. from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law in 1994 and his B.A. from Hendrix College in 1985.
