Littler Mendelson's Atlanta Office Continues Dramatic Growth, More Than Doubles Number of Attorneys Since January 2005

Atlanta, GA/ August 9, 2006 -- Littler Mendelson, the nation's largest employment and labor law firm, announced today that its Atlanta office has more than doubled in size since January 2005 with the addition of 10 new attorneys since June 2006. Littler's Atlanta office has grown from 12 attorneys in January 2005 to 29 attorneys today.

Much of the growth has been through lateral partners joining Littler from other firms, both general practice firms and employment and labor firms. Since January 2005, 6 lateral partners have joined the firm from Powell Goldstein (Gavin Appleby and Jacqueline Kalk), Hunton & Williams (Jerry Newsome), Jackson Lewis (Lee Schreter and Kurt Peterson), and Freeman Mathis & Gary (Greg Richters). Three counsel have recently joined Littler, Angelo Spinola and Tony Robinson from Jackson Lewis, and Patrick Ray from an in-house position at Randstad. The firm also hired new associates in the past few months from Jackson Lewis and local labor and employment firms Fisher & Phillips and Ford & Harrison.

Cameron Pierce, the Atlanta office's Managing Shareholder, commented on why these lateral attorneys joined Littler, saying, "we have repeatedly seen that lateral shareholders who join us are able to significantly expand their practices once they are here. We believe this happens because we bring in very talented lawyers and provide them with support and resources to serve their clients which are second to none in the employment and labor law world. These resources and our national platform have helped many of us who have been here for years build successful practices."

Littler's Atlanta office has also experienced significant growth by expanding its class action litigation practice. In the past year alone, the firm's Atlanta office has handled or is handling over a dozen class action lawsuits. "The number of class actions we are handling from the Atlanta office puts us in a very select group of labor and employment practices in Atlanta," commented Pierce. He added that, "we export a considerable amount of work from Atlanta to other Littler offices, far more than we import, which is an indication of how successful our attorneys in Atlanta have been recently in developing their practices on a national scale."

It is not just the Atlanta office of Littler that is experiencing dramatic growth either. Since January 2005 the firm has grown from 420 to approximately 500 attorneys nationwide and opened 7 new offices in the past year. The firm now has offices in 36 cities around the country.
