Littler Attorney Jeffrey B. Jones to Serve as New Managing Shareholder of the Firm’s Orlando Office

ORLANDO, FL (July 11, 2012) - Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the world’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management, has appointed Jeffrey B. Jones office managing shareholder (OMS) of its Orlando office. Jones follows Carlos Burruezo, who has served as OMS since the office’s opening in May 2007, and will now focus full-time on his labor and employment practice at Littler.

“We are grateful to Carlos for his leadership and guidance of the Orlando office and look forward to having Jeff take on the OMS role,” said Marko Mrkonich, president and managing director of Littler. “Since Jeff’s arrival at Littler five years ago, he has been an important member of our Diversity & Inclusion Council and Talent Development Committee, and has also introduced a number of significant client relationships to the firm. We are confident that he will continue to be a key contributor while picking up where Carlos left off and shepherding the Orlando office through this next chapter in its development.”

“I am proud to be following in Carlos’ footsteps, and thank him for all that he has done for the office. It is an exciting time to be stepping into a management role at the firm—Littler is quickly expanding throughout the region and I am excited to be a part of the Orlando office’s future growth,” added Jones.

Active in the Orlando legal community for 15 years, Jones’ experience includes more than 30 jury trials as a former prosecutor in which he handled numerous high profile matters. He has represented management in cases alleging violations of federal and state discrimination, harassment, and preferential treatment laws, particularly with regards to Title VII and the Florida Civil Rights Act, and has appeared before federal and state courts and administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Florida Commission on Human Rights.

Jones conducts preventive training and seminars on a variety of workplace legal issues in addition to his litigation defense work. His clients span a number of industries such as healthcare, retail and hospitality.

A leader within his respective community, Jones was selected by Governor Rick Scott in August 2011 to serve a three-year term on the Ninth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission of Florida. He is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the National Bar Association, the Orange County Bar Association, Florida Blue Key and is the former vice president of the Paul C. Perkins Bar Association. Additionally, he sits on the Board of Directors for United Cerebral Palsy of Central Florida and Intervention Services, Inc.

Jones received his J.D. from the University of Florida, College of Law in 1994 and his B.S. from Florida State University in 1991.
