Karyn M. Taylor represents management exclusively in the field of labor and employment law matters arising under federal and state law. She appears in state and federal courts and before the Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Nevada Equal Rights Commission, and the Nevada Office of the Labor Commissioner, handling matters that arise under:

  • Title VII of the Civil Rights Act claims for discrimination, harassment, and retaliation
  • Americans with Disabilities Act
  • Family and Medical Leave Act
  • Age Discrimination in Employment Act
  • Unfair competition and trade secrets laws
  • Fair Labor Standards Act

Karyn also provides advice and counsel on various employment issues in such areas as disability accommodation requests, employee leaves of absence, investigations, performance management, discipline and termination issues, harassment and hostile work environment complaints, and compliance.

Prior to joining Littler, Karyn was in-house employment counsel for a large energy corporation, with a decade of experience representing the company in employment litigation. She counseled executives and human resources professionals on compliance with federal and state employment laws, and developed company-wide HR policies and procedures. She conducted training sessions and advised on a broad spectrum of workplace issues, including performance management, wage and hour matters, drug and alcohol testing, leaves of absences, use of contingent workers and employee privacy.
