The toughest new EU Data Protection law in 20 years goes into effect in just two months. On May 25, the EU will replace its current patchwork of data protection laws with a single, comprehensive - and more rigorous - EU data protection law called the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR. Every company with even a single location in the EU needs to be ready. In this timely training, we will discuss how U.S. headquartered multinational companies’ HR processing will be impacted, including how GDPR will affect:

  • Exporting basic employee information from Europe
  • Cloud-based HR information systems on a global scale
  • “Operationalizing” compliance with the new rules
  • Expatriate management
  • Whistleblower hotlines
  • Internal investigations
  • Discovery related to U.S. lawsuits

To provide you the most effective training, we’re offering two sessions on this topic:

  • March 28:
Beginner “big picture” session for those new to EU data protection law compliance: This session is for those not familiar with any of the concepts that will be discussed in the advanced “deep dive” session

  • March 29:
Advanced “deep dive” session for those experienced with the existing EU data protection directive: You understand the differences among EU “binding corporate rules,” EU “model contract clauses” and US/EU “privacy shield,” and know what the ECJ Schrems case did
