Notification Obligation Concerning Posted Workers

New Legislation Enacted

Author: Jukka Pello, Partner — Dottir Attorneys Ltd

As of September 1, 2017, foreign companies sending employees to Finland for temporary work must notify the Operational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) of the posting of a worker before work commences in Finland if the posting is based on an agreement concluded after June 18, 2016, for work that will commence after September 1, 2017. Notification is not required when the company transfers workers as an internal transfer within a group of companies for a maximum period of five days. This exception does not apply when the company operates in the construction sector.
