Whistleblowing in Intercollegiate Athletics

In this article, Littler’s Scott James Preston examines a whistleblower claim filed by a former athletic director against Kean University as a warning to intercollegiate athletic programs to take possible NCAA rules violations and noncompliance with institutional policy seriously. He reminds university officials to review their policies and practices to ensure that employees are encouraged to report wrongdoing, and that reports are responded to in a prompt and non-retaliatory manner.
