Susan Woodhouse Named Knowledge Management Professional of the Year by the International Legal Technology Association

San Francisco, CA (September 1, 2015) – Susan Woodhouse, a principal and senior director of Littler’s Knowledge Management Department, has been recognized by the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) with a 2015 Distinguished Peer Award for outstanding achievements in the category for “Knowledge Management Professional.” ILTA’s Distinguished Peer Award program recognizes premiership and provides a forum for peer-nominated, peer-judged innovations in technology and leadership.

“This is a well-deserved recognition and on behalf of the firm, we congratulate Susan,” said Tom Bender and Jeremy Roth, co-managing directors of Littler, in a joint statement. “We take great pride in our Knowledge Management Department, which is pushing the boundaries of innovation and Susan has played an instrumental role in enhancing client access to the firm’s considerable knowledge, expertise and resources through technology-based solutions.”

As Senior Director of Littler’s Knowledge Management Department, Woodhouse manages a team of attorneys, researchers and technologists and develops tools, services, products and support that allow attorneys to consistently deliver the highest quality client services across practice areas and geography. Her vision, creativity and employment-law experience were crucial to the development of several Littler products and services, including HR PolicySmart™, an online compliance tool that enables employers to track legislative and regulatory changes in HR policies and procedures, Littler GPS®, an online database that provides employers with instant access to recent legislative and regulatory developments across every U.S. jurisdiction, and Littler LaborSmart®, a cutting-edge technology solution for the analysis, organization and benchmarking of collective bargaining agreements.

“Susan has played a critical role in growing our Knowledge Management department to what it is today,” said Scott Rechtschaffen, Chief Knowledge Officer of Littler. “Our vision is to provide more services online and apply technology products that produce best-in-class work.  Susan is committed to delivering that vision and I look forward to her ongoing contributions as we continue to revolutionize the practice of law.”

Recipients were presented their awards during the annual award ceremony on September 1 in conjunction with ILTA’s annual educational conference, ILTACON 2015, held in Las Vegas.

“On behalf of ILTA, I congratulate this year’s Distinguished Peer Award winners,” said Randi Mayes, executive director of ILTA. “We are proud to recognize exceptional technology projects, the champions of those projects, and exceptional innovation and leadership. I applaud and celebrate our winners for sharing their successes.”
