Littler Taps Michael E. Brewer to Lead San Francisco and Walnut Creek Offices

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (September 24, 2014) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has named Michael E. Brewer as San Francisco office managing shareholder (OMS). Brewer, who currently serves as the head of the firm’s Walnut Creek office, will assume the leadership role for both offices. He succeeds Jennifer Walt who has effectively managed the San Francisco office since 2008 and will return to her full time practice at the firm.

“Jennifer has done a tremendous job managing the firm’s flagship office and has helped to maintain Littler’s position as the dominant labor and employment law practice during a time of unprecedented change in the San Francisco Bay Area,” said Tom Bender and Jeremy Roth, co-managing directors of Littler, in a joint statement. “We thank Jennifer for her outstanding leadership and are excited for Mike to build upon her accomplishments. Mike is an exceptional attorney and a proven leader, and we look forward to his continued contributions as he takes on the responsibility of managing both offices.”

“It has been a pleasure to serve as OMS of the Walnut Creek office and I am thrilled at the opportunity to serve in a dual leadership role,” added Brewer. “I look forward to further expanding the firm’s capabilities and client base in the Bay Area and working with leadership in our Sacramento and San Jose offices to continue to grow our presence throughout Northern California.”

Brewer represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including class and collective actions that involve alleged wage and hour violations, sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and employment-related torts. He regularly appears before state and federal courts and before various governmental agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor, the Department of Labor Standards Enforcement, the Employment Development Department and the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing. Brewer also has extensive experience with Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the California Fair Employment and Housing Act and the wage payment provisions of the California Labor Code.

He also served on the Board of Directors of the Contra Costa Bar Association, served as president of their Employment Law section, and is the past president of the Northern California Employment Roundtable.
