Littler Lands on Working Mother's Best Law Firms List

National Association of Female Executives and Flex-Time Lawyers LLC Recognize Leading Employment and Labor Law Firm for the Fourth Year

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (November 14, 2012) - Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the world’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management, has been named a leading law firm for women by the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE), a division of Working Mother Media, and Flex-Time Lawyers LLC®, marking the fourth year that Littler has been bestowed with this recognition.

“To be named a Best Law Firm for Women for the fourth time is a distinct honor,” said Marko Mrkonich, president and managing director of Littler. “Supporting and encouraging the professional success of our female attorneys is a key priority for Littler, and this recognition demonstrates the firm’s unwavering commitment to advancing women’s careers while offering an environment that supports work-life balance.”

For the 2012 Best Law Firms for Women initiative, firms were evaluated on a variety of factors including representation, flexibility, child care, leadership, compensation, development and advancement of women and leave policies. Firms must have 50 or more U.S.-based lawyers to be eligible for evaluation.

A leader in the retention and advancement of female lawyers, Littler provides a number of initiatives geared towards women. The firm’s Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) educates females on techniques to enhance and increase leadership opportunities while maintaining the career-home life balance. In addition, Littler offers remote working opportunities, as well as flex-time options for its attorneys. The firm’s FlexTime Attorney program promotes work-life balance and creates alternate career paths for the firm’s attorneys. Littler now boasts a practice that is comprised of 48% women lawyers.

Dionysia Johnson-Massie, co-chair of Littler’s WLI, added, “As a female Littler attorney, I am particularly proud to be a part of a firm that places an importance on the advancement of women. As a member of the WLI, our goal is to continue to enhance the programs in place while developing new initiatives that will further the careers of the firm’s female attorneys.”

In addition to being named to Working Mother’s Best Law Firms list, the firm also earned a number of accolades in 2012 for promoting an inclusive working environment. A snapshot of these awards include:
