Littler

Todd M. Nierman has a diversified practice representing and counseling employers in labor and employment matters, including:

  • Collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act
  • National Labor Relations Act matters
  • Employment lawsuits
  • Labor arbitrations
  • Collective bargaining
  • Union avoidance

His counsel has been sought for more than 100 union organizing efforts in units as large as 2,000 employees in 20 states.  He has also negotiated dozens of collective bargaining agreements in units as large as 1,500 employees. He frequently works with long-term care providers, such as nursing homes.

A frequent speaker before employer groups and trade associations, Todd also lectures about labor law in health care facilities to graduate students in the School of Environmental and Public Affairs at Indiana University and on labor and management relations to graduate students at Butler University.

Todd is a founding member of Littler Mendelson's Indianapolis office.  He also serves as the firm liaison to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and as the firm's American Bar Association Coordinator.

Before joining Littler Mendelson, Todd practiced at another Indianapolis firm for 20 years where he was chair of the Labor and Employment practice group.
