Littler

Susan H. Hilden has practiced with Littler Mendelson since 2000, representing employers in matters involving discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination.

She has specific knowledge of claims arising under:

  • Title VII
  • The Americans with Disabilities Act
  • The Family and Medical Leave Act
  • Nevada anti-discrimination and wrongful termination laws

Susan regularly appears before state and federal courts, arbitrators, mediators, and administrative agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Nevada Equal Rights Commission. She has successfully argued a number of cases before the Nevada Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Susan also conducts both management and front-line training and investigations for employers, and offers general employment law counseling. Most often, she works with hotels and retailers.

After graduating from law school, Susan clerked for Chief Justice Robert E. Rose of the Nevada Supreme Court for a year and then practiced employment law at firms in Palo Alto and San Francisco.  She worked for the Alameda County District Attorney's Office where she handled misdemeanor jury trials, before returning to practice in Reno.
