Scott C. Sherman has experience with a variety of state and federal labor and employment law matters, including:
- Discrimination
- Harassment
- Retaliation
- Claims involving Title VII
- Fair Labor Standards Act matters
- Employment law tort claims
He appears in federal and state courts in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana, as well as in administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the National Labor Relations Board. Additionally, he has served as first-chair for multiple labor and employment arbitrations and has significant experience and success in obtaining favorable settlements for clients in mediation.
Scott has notable experience with case management and litigation in all types of state and federal discrimination and retaliation cases, as well as with similar arbitration proceedings. Among his notable successes, he recently obtained the denial of a motion for conditional certification in a proposed nationwide FLSA collective action.
In his traditional labor practice, Scott handles labor relations and provides advice regarding strikes and other labor matters. He also focuses on wage and hour compliance and litigation and has substantial experience with employment agreements, including drafting and updating:
- Employment policies and documents
- Separation agreements
- Severance documents
- Reduction-in-force materials
Additionally, Scott provides his clients with compliance counseling, focusing on anti-discrimination statutes, wage and hour law, labor management relations, and other laws.

Scott is board-certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. In law school, Scott served as managing editor of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review.
