Littler

Pam Salgado provides advice, counseling and litigation services to employers and high-level executives. She counsels employers with regard to employment-related laws and issues, including:

  • Federal and state leave laws
  • The Americans with Disabilities Act
  • Title VII
  • Washington State Law Against Discrimination
  • The Age Discrimination in Employment Act
  • The Older Workers Benefit Protection Act
  • The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act

She has successfully defended clients in the following matters:

  • Obtained a defense verdict following arbitration on discrimination and wage and hour claims
  • Defended claims of age discrimination, negligent misrepresentation, and fraud against a major national insurance company obtaining summary judgment on all claims
  • Successfully resolved a matter against a national staffing company brought by multiple employees alleging failure to accommodate religious beliefs in a production-line setting
  • Successfully represented several employers in separate actions involving allegations of disability discrimination and failure to accommodate arising out of alleged mental disorders, including bi-polar disorder
  • Represented multiple employers in Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Washington Human Rights commission proceedings defending against discrimination and retaliation claims by current and former employees resulting in "no-cause" letters from various agencies

She also assists clients in handbook reviews, training, leave requests, accommodation issues, investigations, coaching and discipline, severance negotiations, reductions-in-force, and terminations. She regularly defends employers in employment-related litigation and governmental proceedings, including claims for hostile work environment, discrimination, wage and hour, disability, failure to accommodate, retaliation, and wrongful discharge. She also has substantial experience prosecuting and defending trade secret and unfair competition claims. She has also represented businesses and property owners in matters alleging discrimination under the federal Fair Housing Act and the Washington Fair Housing Law.
