Littler

Larry K. Amburgey offers clients more than 35 years of experience representing public and private employers in employment and labor law matters. Larry represents management faced with union organizing campaigns, unfair labor practice matters, labor negotiations, grievances and labor arbitrations and has arbitrated well over 500 cases in his career.  He appears in state and federal courts and before agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the National Labor Relations Board and comparable state agencies, including the Washington Human Rights Commission and Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries. His expertise also includes discrimination and wrongful discharge claims, and statutory claims arising under:

  • Title VII

Larry has substantial experience drafting, reviewing and updating employment contracts, employee handbooks and other types of employment policies, such as arbitration agreements, alcohol and drug policies, and confidentiality agreements. Larry's labor relations practice includes similar reviews and advice on collective bargaining agreements as well as providing "at the table" representation in labor negotiations. Client counseling is also part of Larry's day-to-day practice with a particular emphasis on unionization issues, employee discipline and termination, and discrimination and harassment.

Additionally, Larry has presented hundreds of human resources and employment and labor law lectures and educational and training programs for public and private employers throughout the Pacific Northwest. He regularly conducts in-house supervisory training for employers, non-profit organizations and industry associations throughout the country.  Larry has also served as an adjunct professor teaching labor law at Lewis and Clark Law School.
