Littler

Jerrilyn T. Malana represents a wide variety of national Fortune 500 clients and local San Diego businesses in all types of employment-related litigation, including claims of:

  • Discrimination
  • Wrongful termination
  • Harassment
  • Retaliation
  • Wage and hour violations
  • Wage and hour class actions

She regularly appears in state and federal courts and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing and the California Labor Commissioner's Department of Labor Standards Enforcement. She has specific experience with matters arising under:

  • Title VII
  • The Americans with Disabilities Act
  • The Age Discrimination in Employment Act
  • The Family and Medical Leave Act
  • The California Fair Employment and Housing Act
  • The California Labor Code

Jerrilyn also assists with employee handbooks and personnel policies, provides counseling and training to avoid employment-related claims and is a dynamic public speaker on employment law topics.

A member and former co-chair of Littler Mendelson's Diversity and Inclusion Council, Jerrilyn also is a member of the Women's Leadership Initiative Steering Committee. Additionally, she's part of the leadership team of 'Ohana, an affinity group for Asian Pacific American and South Asian American attorneys.

Jerrilyn served as a judicial extern to the Honorable David R. Thompson, Senior Circuit Judge, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Louisa S. Porter, Magistrate Judge, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. In law school, she was executive editor of the Law Review. Prior to entering the practice of law, she worked as a human resources professional in both California and Hawaii.
