- Title VII
- The Age Discrimination in Employment Act
- The Americans with Disabilities Act
- The Family and Medical Leave Act

He has particular expertise responding to charges of discrimination filed with federal and state agencies and helping employers to comply with federal, state and municipal employment laws. He also participated in one of the largest wage and hour audits involving the review of more than 3,500 jobs.
With significant experience effectively resolving difficult and complex matters through mediations or summary judgment motions, Frederick also provides counseling on:
- Litigation avoidance
- The Fair Labor Standards Act
- Non-competition agreements

Frederick frequently represents and advises retail clients on retaliation, discrimination and harassment matters, as well as the Texas non-subscriber provisions under the Texas Workers' Compensation law. He is regularly sought out for the defense of corporations ranging from small startups to Fortune 500 companies in the following industries:
- Finance
- Telecommunications
- Healthcare
- Consumer services
- Manufacturing
Co-chair of the firm's Diversity & Inclusion Council, Frederick is committed to promoting diversity through education and communication. He has gained national prominence as a member of the Dallas Diversity Task Force, which issued the first ever diversity report card of the 20 largest Dallas-based law firms in 2006. As a result of the report, several major corporations have requested permission to use "the Dallas Formula" as a tool to evaluate the law firms with which they work.
Frederick is a powerful presenter and has conducted training for a number of professional organizations. He often is quoted in national and local publications regarding employment law issues and he regularly speaks on the management of social media and diversity and inclusion for large entities.
From September 1994 to February 1996, Frederick served as a Special Envoy to the Environmental Justice Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Delegation Officer for the Environmental Protection Agency. In this capacity, he went to the EPA on an Intergovernmental Personnel Act assignment to develop processes for addressing environmental justice, particularly in Superfund communities. As a RCRA delegation officer, he ensured that states that were assuming oversight for their hazardous waste programs promulgated laws, rules and regulations at least as stiff as the federal standards. The initiative to involve local contractors in the cleanup of the Agricultural Street Landfill Superfund site in New Orleans was given the Bronze Medal by the Agency.
