The landmark health care reform legislation will bring sweeping changes to our nation’s health care system as well as to the workplace. While all employers need to consider how new requirements and responsibilities will impact their workforce, unionized employers face additional challenges. While the timeline for the implementation of the new rules vary, unionized employers must now begin to consider how the reform provisions impact their current collective bargaining agreements, bargaining strategy and bargaining position in the years to come. In this must-attend, complimentary webinar we will explore the short-term and long-term implications of the legislation for unionized employers, including:

  • How the legislation impacts collective bargaining agreements in effect before the effective date of the healthcare reform legislation
  • Strategies for employers who are in the process of negotiating a new collective bargaining agreement
  • Future effective dates of health care reform provisions and how to address them in collective bargaining agreements
  • The advantages and disadvantages of eliminating employer-provided health care coverage
  • The impact on Taft-Hartley plans
  • Practical suggestions that will allow an employer to comply with the law while not compromising its bargaining position

The webinar will be led by Littler Attorneys Ellen Bronchetti, Susan Hoffman and Jay Sumner.
