Social Media in the Workplace: Is Your Company the Next Victim?

Friday, November 12

  • 8:00 AM PST

Rochester, NY

As employee use of the internet is exploding, find out how employers can monitor text messaging (and other social media) in the workplace—and whether you are free to use what you learn from social networking sites in hiring and personnel management. We'll explain how comments in emails can affect the outcome of a case and what plaintiffs' lawyers are doing to exploit the latest e-discovery rules.

In addition, during this session we will discuss the immigration implications to foreign national employees through the government's use of social media postings in the adjudication of immigration filings.

Speakers include Littler Rochester attorneys Margaret A. Clemens, Trent M. Sutton, and Patrick J. Simpson.
