This program is designed for human resources professionals, in-house counsel, and business owners.

Littler attorneys will provide you with an update of the new regulations passed by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) on December 12, 2014 enacting much-anticipated changes to the union election process. This new process, enabling "quickie" elections, will make it more difficult for employers to remain union free by dramatically reducing the time between the filing of a petition with the NLRB (often the first time an employer becomes aware of union activity) and election day.

Additionally, we will cover the NLRB's recent decision in Purple Communications, in which the NLRB held that Section 7 of the National Labor Relations Act requires employers, except in limited circumstances, to open their corporate email systems to union organizing activity by employees. This decision will have an impact on how both union and non-union workplaces manage their corporate email and other communication systems.
