A roundtable discussion for human resources professionals about effective and compliant employment background screening processes. This will be a true roundtable discussion: lectern-free with the unique opportunity to share insights and vet challenges with your human resources colleagues from other companies. This lively and free-flowing discussion is the first in a series this year open exclusively to human resources professionals working within corporations.

During this roundtable, participants will share their experiences building an effective employment background screening program, specifically the interplay among:

  • Internal screening standards
  • Federal and state laws that may require background screening or may prohibit the hiring of employees or contractors with certain criminal or credit histories
  • Federal, state, and local laws that mandate certain processes and procedures for conducting the screening
  • Federal, state, and local laws that regulate the substance of the decision-making process for screening results
  • Contracts with consumer reporting agencies and other third parties
