H1N1 Flu: Preparing the Workplace for a Pandemic
Wednesday, October 14
- 7:00 AM PDT
Pittsburgh, PA
Employers are busy implementing CDC guidance designed to protect the health of their employees and to maintain business continuity during the 2009–2010 flu season, but have they considered the workplace law issues that might be raised? Littler Mendelson invites you to join us for a complimentary panel discussion regarding the critical employment law issues implicated by their response to the spread of seasonal flu and 2009 H1N1 flu in the workplace. At the conference, we'll consider questions such as:
- Can we require employees to get vaccinated?
- Is H1N1 a serious health condition under the FMLA?
- Can we force a sick employee to stay home?
- Do we have to pay an employee who stays home?
- What if employees require time off because their child's school is closed due to an outbreak?
- What if the employee is out of PTO?
- Can we require employees to self-disclose that they have the flu?
- Can an employee receive workers' compensation for the flu?
- Can we treat pregnant women and other "high risk" people differently out of concern for their health and well-being?
Please join us on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, for this important, complimentary breakfast briefing.
