Our Vision Our supplier diversity vision is to ensure the inclusion of minority and women-owned businesses, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and/or transgender owned businesses, by identifying and leveraging purchasing opportunities and nurturing the success of minority and women-owned businesses, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and/or transgender owned businesses.
Qualifications for Minority and Women-owned Suppliers In order to qualify as a diverse or women-owned supplier with Litter, a business must be at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by one or more US citizens from any of the following ethnic groups: Asian, African, Hispanic or Native Americans.
Women-owned businesses must be at least 51% owned, operated and controlled by one or more women who are US citizens.
Qualifications for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and/or Transgender owned businesses Be at least fifty-one percent (51%) owned, operated, managed, and controlled by an LGBT person or persons who are either U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents, have its principle place of business (headquarters) in the United States, and have been formed as a legal entity in the United States.
Certification Requirements Certification is a process of determining ownership control and day-to-day operations of a minority or women-owned business. There are numerous professional organizations that certify minority and women-owned businesses, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and/or transgender owned businesses (see the list below). The certification process includes an in depth examination of a company’s management practices, stock, financial documents, owner eligibility, personnel, operations, legal structure and a site visit. The process can take up to 4 months or longer to become certified.
- As part of our M/WBE and LGBTBE program, Littler will only utilize suppliers who are certified as being minority or women-owned or lesbian, gay, bisexual, and/or transgender owned by a certifying agency.
- Littler will not accept self-certification.
